This is me checking out for a while. This time of This is me checking out for a while. This time of year, assignments due, massages and binding, birth preparation sessions and births are coming in hot and heavy. At a time when I should be with my family awaiting the birth of my niece, but separated by oceans and pandemics. My heart and soul are heavy. I feel myself slipping into a mindless, time consuming social media spiral when I feel overwhelmed. This doesn’t serve me. So for now I’m cutting out the distractions, feeding myself nutritious foods and taking it one day at a time. Dreamscape... I am back from my nature escape and Dreamscape... I am back from my nature escape and spending the morning responding to all your email enquires. I definitely spent a lot of time over New Years reflecting on how my little biz has developed over the year. And now reading through all your enquires and reflecting on the different sessions I have coming up and what I have over the years added to my skill set, I am feeling very blessed. Thank you all so much for investing in me. It is my literal dream come true.

I don’t think anyone’s year went as expected. I don’t think anyone’s year went as expected. 00:00 tonight isn’t a rest button. Everything is cyclic, it just keeps going. We have the ability to make changes at any time. I’m not suggesting that’s easy. At times all we can change is our outlook or attitude. Sometimes that’s the hardest thing to change, especially when we’re in the depths. But the darker the place we’re in, the brighter the smallest of lights look. 2020 vision helped me uncover some depths that I didn’t know existed. It brought up opportunities I never envisioned. And it’s given me a perspective and drive that I may not have found as soon, if I had continued on my globetrotting year as planned. It’s brought heartache, being seperate by oceans from families. Not being able to provide my skills and support for my sister and the birth of the first baby in our family is breaking my heart. This year facilitated me to leave a system I don’t believe in. It enabled me to seek out stepping into a dream position as a home birth midwife. And time allowed for me to pursue my business dreams. I questioned the timing and whether it would even take off at such a time where people were struggling, especially financially. I really could not have envisioned how much you all have seen my passion, appreciated my knowledge and expressed such authentic gratitude for the services I have provided. Birth is where it all begins, babies don’t stop coming, if anything the care I provide has been even more important during this time. I love this work beyond what I could have imagined. Thank you all so much for the encouragement and support. I wish you all deep support with the journey that is this lifetime and I hope you can proudly reflect on the strength and resilience you all hold. 📸 @vida_images
